The Klimov Company experimental and research facilities cover the entire range of tests and performance measurements concerning various gas turbine engines and their modules such as gas generators, compressors, combustion chambers, turbines and other components. Power plant tests at Klimov involve special, adjustment, service life and certification tests on the engines themselves as well as on their individual systems and components. Moreover, the engine manufacturing process at the plant involves a variety of tests required by specifications, design parameters and production technology.
The Klimov Company facilities make it possible to conduct all type of tests on engines and components such as:
- Turbojet engines with a propulsion range from 500 to 11,000 kgf;
- Turboprop and turboshaft engines with the power from 100 to 4,000 hp;
- Main helicopter gearboxes and turboprop aircraft gearboxes (as power plant components);
- Aircraft accessory gearboxes for turbojet engines;
- FADEC type automatic monitoring and control units;
- Information and diagnostics units.
The experimental and research facility includes the following types of test benches and testing equipment:
- 16 benches for engine tests (turbojet, turboprop and turboshaft engines)
- Over 60 benches for individual testing of units, assemblies and modules of gas turbine engines;
- Vibration test and balancing system for strength research and tests on units, assemblies and modules of gas turbine engines;
The Central Laboratory – an integrated facility for metallurgical tests on engine materials, parts and assemblies.
